Products and Services

Focus Family Mediation only provides family mediation services to its clients. Although some of our mediators are qualified solicitors they do not give legal advice and are not acting as solicitors.

Costs and Fees

You may be entitled to a form of Legal Aid which will cover the cost of our mediation services. We always conduct an assessment at the outset before the mediation starts to see if you are entitled to Legal Aid.

If you do not qualify for Legal Aid then we will be able to give you an accurate assessment of the likely overall cost of mediation and the assessment meeting. If your issues are particularly complicated, the cost will be negotiated separately and in consultation with you both. We will provide you with cost estimates wherever practicable to assist your planning of the likely costs.

It may be that you will wish to make payment to us by your credit or debit card. In order to make such a payment you will need to telephone us on 0114 230 0905. You can contact us about a transaction that you have made either by  telephone or by contacting us by e-mail on info@focusfamilymediation.co.uk, or by writing to us at 14 Figtree Lane Sheffield S1 2DJ.

We will only collect from you sufficient information to process the transaction and we will check with you before processing the transaction that all of the information is correct, so as to enable you to make any necessary corrections. Once the transaction has been processed we will not retain any of the information collected from you but destroy it immediately. It will not be shared with anyone else. You can use any other method of payment such as cheque, cash or bank transfer.

We comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Cancellation/refund policy

Since we work on a session by session basis you can always cancel a session and you do not incur any cancellation charges. If you have made a credit card payment and for whatever reason are entitled to a refund then we will make sure that the funds are returned to you within ten working days.

Covid-19 Update

We wish to reassure all our clients that Focus family Mediation is still open for business as we are able to continue delivering our mediation services remotely.

This means that until further notice our Mediation Informations & Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) and mediation sessions will nee conducted via online video connections such as Skype, FaceTime Video, WhatsApp Video or Zoom and, in certain circumstances, telephone.

Please call us if you would like more information about how this works or if you would like to check whether you may or may not qualify for legal aid to cover the cost of a remote meeting.
