About Focus Family Mediation

Focus Family Mediation Sheffield was established in 1993 when we were part of the family team of a major Sheffield law firm. During this time we built up an enviable reputation for the quality of our service to clients. In 2011 Paul Thorn and Carmel Doyle left the law firm to establish Focus Family Mediation as an independent mediation business

Carmel and Paul are both solicitors. They are members of Resolution which is an organisation specifically for lawyers and mediators dealing with family issues. Carmel is also a member of the Family Mediators Association and a trained Collaborative Lawyer. Paul is a Deputy District Judge.

Carmel and Paul are fully accredited by the Legal Aid Agency to conduct mediations funded by Legal Aid. Not all mediators have this higher level of accreditation.

At Focus Family Mediation in Sheffield, all our mediatiors are trained in Direct Consultation with children during the mediation process.
